Keepin' it real.

This month has ripped away on me. I got a lot accomplished but I have so much still to do. I put time into the things that appeared urgent and high priority but I neglected to add me to those very categories.
My mega-missions recap fell by the wayside not to mention the new mega-missions for Year 29 that I have still to write. Wait. Write? How can I write something I haven't even put much thought into?
My 12 blog posts I tried for are still swirling around in my mind. I have so many ideas of things I want to write, things I want to say but not enough time in the day.
I've been soaking every second I can out of studying for my fast-approaching exam so when I back up and look at it from that perspective, I've been doing OK.
June kicks off summer, officially. Somebody please send Mother Nature that memo.
May, you kicked my ass but you sure hold a most special place in my heart. Cheers!

On my mind.

It is not the magnitude of our actions but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.

There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation than for bread.

I will never understand all the good that a simple smile can accomplish.

Extra long and filled with fun.

This past weekend was the May Long up in these parts. Basically, that means the kickoff to the long weekends of summer that we're so lucky to have. It's the kind of weekend where cabins are officially opened for the season, trailers are settled into their spots, campers are excited for their season to start rolling and Mother Nature is supposed to kick spring time into high gear.
As it turns out, Mother Nature decided to dip the temps down so low that we had to turn out heat back on and she poured buckets of rain on us to make it very wet.
We didn't have extravagant plans but we did have days filled with family, laughter, good eats and an abundance of fun. We celebrated seven in style. I'm so excited for what is yet to come.

How does 7 happen?

The answer is simply it just does.
Seven years ago today, I imagine I was staring in wonderment at this tiny being that changed my whole world. I see him bundled up tight resting in my shaky arms.
Everyone had gone home but he and I remained. The Calgary Flames were planning in the NHL finals (they didn't win). The nurse was in the room hanging out with us. She could feel my apprehension. She read my fears though I never once voiced them aloud. She comforted me. She told me it would all work out.
I wish I knew her name so I could thank her. She was so very right.
Seven years ago today, my baby boy was born. Today, he is more beautiful than I could have imagined, smarter than I thought possible and such a joy that there aren't words spectacular enough to articulate.
Happy Birthday My Monkey Man!

Numbers time.

Let's make this measurable. The next 4 weeks look like this:

  • 1 super awesome birthday to be had

  • 1 major exam coming up

  • 2 fabulous kids to enjoy

  • 2 photog sessions still to shoot

  • 3 times a day a shake myself back into reality

  • 4 weeks to go before said exam

  • 5 hours per day I need to find to study

  • 12 blog posts to be written

  • 1,000 ideas swirling around my mind

  • 8439 loads of laundry that need to be tended to

I'd best get to it. What are your numbers?

On my mind.

Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use.
~Earl Nightingale

Don't be discouraged. It's often the last key in the bunch that opens the lock.

Pity party.

Being a student means sometimes you fail.
Please excuse me while I rethink things a bit.

Recap: Mission - April.

1 - Drink more water! If by drink more I meant actually drink some then I did well. I'm trying to find a happy medium.
2 - Take another gander at this list because new mega one is due out next month. EEP! Well, there will be a recap on the mega missions. I'm a bit nervous.
3 - Rock my socks off (or get back into some sort of movement routine or something equally as fun) A little encouragement is all it takes. The Joy Rebel Miss Brandi has an e-course called MOVE. I was lucky enough to win a spot in it and love it. Totally unexpected but exactly what I needed to boost the moviation.

May is running and calling me to catch up. I'm on it!
