Recap: Mission - January
So, how did my month shake out?
1.Save. Most certainly. There is still learning to be had and work to be done but progress has been significant.
2.Tidy. A constant battle.
3.Build. A Lego construction world has been conquered.
4.Read. Two books have had their covers closed. One, I miss and the other I admire the author for following a dream.
5.List. Oh there are more to be had.
6.Photograph. Fail.
7.Write. There has been a storm of ideas pouring forth. There are pages of thought penned. Now, to weave them together.
It was an accomplished month. The newness of the year has worked it's way in and 2011 just fits right where it should.

Way late Team Up.
Contrasting her outside chilly snap, I went with a different type of black and white. The black dog on white pillow was my odd spin this week.

Captain Corelli's Mandolin
~Louis de Bernieres
Love is a temporary madness; it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwines together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of eternal passion. That is just being in love, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Those that truly love have roots that grow towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossom have fallen from their branches, they find that they are one tree and not two.

Mission: January
Half way into the new year and I feel like I'm just getting going. Like a car in winter, I needed some time to warm up before being ready to go. Here's what's in store:
- Save.
- Tidy.
- Build.
- Read.
- List.
- Photograph.
- Write.
That sounds like both a challenging and realistic list for me. Tell me, how do you interpret each of those missions of mine? Do they apply to you, too?

Team Up Thursday: All in a Row.
We're back! Puna and I have teamed up again.
Her image is of Christmas cuties all in row. I like the devious look on that first one's face. Oh the thoughts he must be thinking! I admire how awesome she gets her aperture. I'm honoured to be her partner.
Let me set the stage. 7:20AM the morning of her wedding, my sister calls me frantic. The bouquets arrived and the florist messed up. I grabbed everyone coffee, stopped and picked up whatever yellow flowers could be had and zoomed to the rescue. This was the result.
Skip over and see Melody and Megan for some more great fun.

Recap: Mission - December
1.Absorb the magic that December is. I did. It was spectacular.
2.Rip out a realistic study strategy. I'm struggling with this. I need to dig deeper. Find more.
3.Get those books cycled. Put away what needs not be out. I was able to tuck some away. I still have more to do here, though.
4.Christmas - decide what it's really all about. This might take more time than I thought. I have an inkling it will take me a while yet before I get this.
5.Get that tree up and d.e.c.o.r.a.t.e. The tree went up and the tree came down. Decorations were out and I've already started my brainstorming for next Christmas decor. There is something super in store for card organization.
6.Clothes, move out! Too small toys, you too! Hmmm, try try again.
7.Wrap up and reflect. I'm still working on this one.
8.Plan, dream, brainstorm for 2011 and all the promise that it holds. See previous.
9.Pray for a smooth surgery. It was smooth. More involved than we first thought but smooth none the less.
10.Spice up my locks. A short asymmetrical snip and I've been rocking it out.
11.Write. Define. Design. With some help from Designer Blogs, I spiffed up the look of this place.
12.Try and finish reading a book. There is just so much I want to read. I didn't finish any books. I did start reading a few more though. Now, the obvious question would be why can't I just read one at a time? Truth is, it's just not me.

Health and the like.
I'm humbled by those of you who thought of me during my surgery. I still can't say I'm better but I'm absolutely on the mend. The knee itself is still swollen and I walk with a limp. If I push too hard, am on my feet too long, walk too many stairs or just do too much, the pain reminds me to slow down. With physiotherapy this should go away as the muscles regain their strength. I have a new appreciation for the intensity that is physiotherapy.
My time has been filled with lots of ice packs, warm wishes and a few pain meds. Thank you all for your kindness.
