Me and Eddie.

This is Eddie. He and I met while I was out strolling the Las Vegas Strip. He's a boa constrictor snake kinda thing. Of the two that the psycho kind man had hanging out with him, Eddie was supposed to be the calmer one. The man noted I appeared frozen in fear somewhat nervous.

I had a moment where I became possessed by the 14 year-old rebel wild nut I was. Back then, I may have entertained attempting the following to scare my mother. Now, the responsible adult I am should have known better.
See the close up of him hanging out in my hand? That is the result of becoming possessed. Without too many more details, both my hands, shoulders and neck were involved in this. Take particular note to the end of Dear Eddie's tail. See it? Hanging perpendicular to the ground? Freeze this image.
See that same tail tip now? Barely moments later, Dear Eddie had it wrapped ever so perfectly around my wrist. My hand/arm/whole body had nothing to do with this foolishness. It all simply fell victim to my wild side. The rebel in me just knew the pictures would put me into the coolest mom hall of fame as declared by my sweet son.

"Hey Mom, did Dad hold the snake?"
"No way. You're dad wouldn't do anything like that."
"So, Mom, Dad's a frady cat, right?...AHAHAHAHAHA! You're the coolest."

Noteworthy:
  • Don't try this at home
  • My chest still tightens knowing I actually did this
  • This did not cure me of my aversion to snakes.
  • No alcohol was involved and no animal was harmed (human included)
  • What happens in Vegas...no longer stays in Vegas
  • Mom is cooler than Dad in this house!

Tell me, what have you done to push outside of your comfort zone?

  1. Even looking at snakes creeps me out - so opening this blog and commenting was a test of will.

  2. Awesome! I can say I would love to do that, but I don't know if that would be true. Haha.
