Recap: Mission February

1.Kindness
I am changed by that moment this past month. Ask and you shall receive has resonated with me since. His story still needs to be written.
2.Patience
It feels like the short month left me short on patience. I need to practice more.
3.Faith
I continue to deepen my faith. I encourage you to do the same whatever faith means to you.
4.Love
I love deep. This month was filled with celebrations of love none of which happened on the 14th :)
5.Creativity
I wrote. I WROTE. I have awakened my heart to writing again. I have begun a new journey in this.
6.Diligence
I fell a bit short on this one. The next 9 days need to be focused and firm and full.

All in all, no complaints here. Thanks for a FULL month, February. How's about adding in an extra day next year?

My eyes see.

Through the window there is a blackness of night that reflects my image back on the cold glass. The wind whispers enticingly trying to coax me away from this warm crackling fire. While tempting, the latest best seller has me engulfed such that I've even cracked the spine, my signature for a good book.
Refocusing my sight beyond the solid triple pane, the light of the moon glistens off the snow. The wind stirs up random swirls then scatters them across the dark. A lone passerby breaks the silence and sparks my curiosity. I follow his path until he, too, is lost in the night. Left momentarily behind are defined footprints only to be quickly swept under the white snow rug. There is no mercy to be had from Mother Nature's twisted plan.
I turn the page and am lost in the story again.

Team Up: Blue

Oh hello Friday! How nice of you to have arrived with such speed this week.

Puna and I missed the boat on Thursday but definitely not on the them of BLUE. She is coordinating with a certain Miss on paint colours. Good luck! I still have swatches on my walls after months with no decisions made.
I went with my familiar. My blue. My boy. Blue from his eyes to his favorites. He is exactly what think when I think BLUE.
Skip over and see what the masterminds, Megan and Melody, have pulled together.

The End That Prompted the Beginning.

She called for the fifth time in three days filled with trepidation. His avoidance of her calls made the reality of what was to come undeniable.

"Hello?" Her heart sank. His mother answered.

"Hi. I was hoping to talk to..." She tried to sound courteous and cheerful.

His mother replied with a new excuse of why he couldn't take the call. She couldn't mask her disappointment but offered a meek phrase of appreciation. His mother provided a curt goodbye and quick hang up. She, however, lingered on the line finally ready to admit the inevitable and succumb to the tears she was barely keeping at bay.

That's when she heard it - the sigh.

He cleared his throat.

She held her breathe.

"Hi. Let me explain," he began.

The conversation confirmed her suspicions. What was done was done. She sat silently nodding at each line he spewed wondering which he would offer up next. His words all blurred together and she was dizzied by the white noise of his voice.

Overwhelmed with this official truth, she gently whispered, "Thank you and goodbye," then returned the corded phone to its cradle.

Cappuccino design.

It's no secret. I like a good cup of cappuccino. I usually settle for a latte because very few of the cafes I've been to here can make the foam right. There is a sound you must hear, a sizzle of sorts, to know that the air infusion is just right. Simply starting the frothing and then setting down the milk pitcher just doesn't cut it. Hence, the latte. But I digress.
I'm officially on a mission to find a barista that can produce this form of art.

Any hook ups? Can you send me to someone who can make a cappuccino fashionista like myself a spectacular cup?

Stewing.

Just like a delicious slow cooked meal where the flavours are encouraged to release, my words are coming. As you would choose vegetables, carefully and cautiously making sure to get the freshest ones, I am being selective.
You see, there was a situation with a gentleman this past weekend. Our paths crossed and for a moment. I don't know his name nor do I know his story. What I know is for a moment I made a difference in his life and he has forever made a difference in mine.

The story is coming.

Round and round.

I feel like a child on a merry-go-round spinning in circles

...except that mine is twirling at warp speed on a tilted course and the world is laughing. I am taking today to put things back into perspective. Get done what is realistic and tuck away the rest.

What do you do when you feel things on the brink of running away on you?

On my mind.

Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.
~Henry Van Dyke

Talent is what you possess; genius is what possesses you.
~Malcolm Cowley

As tools become rusty, so does the mind; a garden uncared for soon becomes smothered in weeds; a talent neglected withers and dies.

Team Up Thursday: Stacked

It's time for Team Up!
Puna and I tackled stacked this week. This is an image of her stacked wedding china. I'm not sure when the last time I had my wedding china out or when the last time I set a fancy table for dinner. I might just revise my missions for February.

This is my shot of stacked books I want to read before too much more time passes. I'm a avid reader and I am determined to get to the bottom of this one. Some of these have been on my want to read list for years.

Megan and Melody have some awesome things going on with Team Up.

Mission: February

The month is short and I've replicated this in my missions list. Don't be fooled, though. I'm squeezing every savoury ounce of time into this month.

  1. Kindness
  2. Patience
  3. Faith
  4. Love
  5. Creativity
  6. Diligence

Tell me, what do these mean to you? Can you fit these into your February?
